Long overdue Updates

Well lets see alot has happened in the past few months, I am going to try and explain the past 5 or 6 months with one sentence and one picture lets see how well I can do that.

I actually ended up mocking up a lab for cloud development, and it looked a little something like this ( Before I recently moved to Michigan, the land of complete not-awesomeness! ).

Then moving right along to camping, we took a pretty slick trip to the middle of no where to get drunk and blow as much stuff as we could up back in October.

I found a random picture of a bottle of vodka, I am assuming I was completely trashed, however that pretty much describes June or July, I cannot remember which.

Now to the fun stuff that I will actually describe.

I recently purchased an e6520 Laptop specs below

8 GB Ram
500 GB + 320 GB Drives
440M Graphics w/ 1920 x 1080 display (15.6 Full HD)

Well all is good at the pricepoint $900, it came with a few years of dell warranty left…. Have it 2 days and the LED backlight burnt out, then the CPU starts overheating and the mouse pad stops working.

Dell comes out and replaces my mouse pad, and heatsink and then low and behold my fan no longer works, so they sent another clueless person out to fix it by replacing my CPU and here are some pictures of how well this guy lined the motherboard back up.

How awesome right, and then my Dell Server guy calls me the next day trying to sell me more dell products… Yeah fucking right

Oh in good news, the Enzu Office is actually open! Just need to make one trip to Ikea in order to get some more desks, here is a picture of the main work space as of right now, we stuck another desk in a back room for phone conversations and steve is sitting in there working until he gets a new desk. I sorta confiscated his desk, monitors and monitor stand!

So you see a great deal on a Virtual Private Server… Yes! I shoul snag one up you think this is going to be some fun, so naturally you purchase it and after waiting what seems the longest 20 minutes of your life you get your welcome email with all of your information. Now hmm immediatly I am going to say I wonder what kinda juice she has!

Now you get some decent results and some not so decent results, did you ever stop to think there are 30 other people doing exactly what your doing. Yes disk i/o is going to be horrid when you have 30 people stress testing a machine, and not to mention a stress test is designed to benchmark the maximum performance of the machine, so if 30 people are taxing shared resources to the max what do you think is going to come of it?

We’ll for the first time in years, I actually have cable service, through the long career of mine in IT, I have normally just begged, or borrowed connectivity and used an encrypted p2pp tunnel to do my work over. However it appears those days are long behind me with my shinny new 22/2 mbps service from bright house, and the HD tv isn’t to bad either, so good in fact I went and picked up a second tv for the bedroom:

Long overdue

Once before many light years ago… This was an active blog that I somewhat enjoyed, several moves / jobs / states later I have brought it back.

Lets see I work for Enzu Inc. these days as the Chief Operating Officer, I’m a technical consultant to ChaCha Search Inc. and I run my consulting firm bdwarr6, LLC out of my apartment in Carmel Indiana

I have some photo’s of the place I’ll have to add in later but for now this should do. It sort of resembles a European Style town, however its in the middle of nowhere (Which is nice and Quiet)

I would have to say that overall alot has changed since I last blogged, such as the fact I’m hooked on techno these days… It just seems to increase productivity
